The roots of Energy Medicine date back to Ayurvedic Medicine, Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and other ancient healing disciplines. Unfortunately, modern, allopathic medicine all too readily discounts the validity of these approaches because of the inability to replicate results in a scientific setting. Isn't it interesting that Aristarchus of Samos had determined that the earth revolved around the sun and calculated the approximate distance between the 2 bodies around 250 BC, some 1900 years before Galileo made his noteworthy discovery? The invention of the telescope in 1608 was needed to validate Aristarchus’s work. Though the church diligently suppressed Galileo’s discoveries, the clerics eventually had to yield to the evidence that was finally plainly observable by telescope. In 1952, Jean Niboyet established that acupuncture points have a lower skin resistance than points elsewhere on the body. The following year, Dr. Walter Schmidt established a correlation between specific acupuncture points with the organ that was malfunctioning. In 1953, Dr. Reinhard Voll researched and developed a systematic approach for evaluating the body through skin resistance measurements. Harold Burr found voltage potential variations in the energy field around plants and animals. Others, including Lakhovsky, Nodon and Crile, were pioneers in detecting the biological radiation field that surrounds all living organisms.

In the 1970’s, the American Energy Medicine pioneer Robert Becker showed that living organisms propagate a D.C. electrical field, which alters, depending on whether the cells are healthy or diseased.

He also discovered and confirmed that the electrical current is conducted through the body along unknown channels that correspond in location to the acupuncture points or meridians.

Energy Medicine has been around for a long time back to the days of medicine men and shamans. Now, there are various technological methods to determine the electrical parameters of the human body. An allopathic viewpoint is that the body is comprised of chemical properties (sodium, potassium, etc.) Energy Medicine, however, views the body as an electrical circuit, comprised of electrical parameters; for example, voltage, amperage and resistance.
